BAY MODERN

This client engaged us to build a new home on an existing lot to fit their modern aesthetic. We built them an ultra modern and energy efficient house complete with large windows, modern roof lines, and an outdoor patio to entertain. We chose a modern black and white color scheme on the Hardie siding, but wanted to add a bit of character by incorporating a bright yellow double front door, and cedar accents on the back patio. We finished off this design by adding in modern lighting. The client wanted to construct a new home that was all-electric, energy efficient, and had a striking contemporary style. To meet these requests, we install closed cell spray foam insulation throughout the entire home, utilized a Zip sheathing system, installed high quality Pella casement windows, and installed a high efficiency heat pump system with ERV ventilation and a powered whole home air cleaner. All appliances and equipment selections were electric, and electric car charging ports were added to the existing detached garage. At the completion of the project, a blower door test was performed and the resulting air leakage score was an ACH50 of 0.43, which is over 6 times better than required for EnergyStar certification.
